Training

We can offer training for:

  • Legal and quasi-legal advisors.
  • Barristers.
  • Decision makers.
  • Mental health professionals.
  • Refugee community organisations offering advice and support to asylum seekers.

We can offer training on:

  • The psychological evidence for the effects of trauma in the process of seeking asylum.
  • Understanding the research evidence and applying it to asylum casework the research evidence and vulnerable asylum seekers.
  • Working with vulnerable asylum seekers (interviewing, taking a statement, supporting, when to refer).
  • The importance of burnout, secondary traumatisation and vicarious traumatisation to people working with traumatised refugees, and techniques for self-care.
